Miami-Dade County – A 27-year-old man from South Florida is charged with felony molestation of a runaway adolescent, according to the police.
Miami-Dade police report that while under house arrest, Leonel Keenan Labranche approached the 13-year-old girl while she was wandering along the street following her escape on January 9. Labranche then invited her into his residence on Northwest 83rd Terrace in the West Little River neighborhood of the county.
During her stay at his residence, the two allegedly engaged in sexual activity and inhaled marijuana, according to the police.
Labranche reportedly transported the girl to Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines on January 12 out of concern that she might be infected with a sexually transmitted disease, according to an arrest report.
On Friday, Labranche was reportedly located by the police, and during an interview with detectives, he admitted to the allegations.
Labranche, who was previously under house arrest for drug trafficking and improper use of a two-way communications device, has now been charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. His previous accusations included several felonies related to domestic violence, each of which was associated with a separate case.
As of Monday morning, he was being detained without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade.
