Florida Man Charged With Dragging Pregnant Girlfriend ‘Through The Streets’

Mocobizscene- According to WPLG, a South Florida man was taken into custody after police claimed he had attacked and dragged his expectant partner “through the streets” earlier this month. According to Miami police, the incident took place on January 8 in the Little River district of the city, close to the intersection of Northeast 75th Street and North Miami Avenue.

According to officials, Brownsville resident Jean Washington, 37, approached his girlfriend after she reported him to the police for allegedly using domestic violence. Washington allegedly said, “You better call them and drop them, you know I’m on papers!” as he insisted that the victim drop the allegations.

Officers say the offender began beating the expectant victim multiple times in the face, dragged her, and then left the scene.

According to the TV outlet, Washington was detained on January 18 for violating the sex offender registration law as well as associated crimes. He was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center when he was officially apprehended by police on Monday, January 22, for the incident, according to state records.

He is presently being prosecuted for witness tampering, battery with two or more prior convictions, and aggravated battery of a pregnant victim.

Reporters discovered that at the time of the purported incident, the victim was three months pregnant with the suspect’s child. As of Wednesday, there was no update on her status (January 24).
