Mocobizscene- Lt. Robert Anderson reported that the police received a call about a man with a gun in the Cliff Hill Road and Long Hill Drive area, just four hours into the new year. According to him, they arrived just as the disturbance was coming to an end and people were starting to leave.
William Christmas, 35, remained behind the wheel of a Mercedes SUV with the engine running, according to the lieutenant.
According to Anderson, he mentioned that the individual had been drinking. According to the report, Christmas declined to take part in the field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested.
In the back of the SUV’s cargo area, the officers discovered an unloaded Taurus 9mm handgun, as confirmed by Anderson. Christmas was charged with several weapons offenses, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, he was charged with DWI and failing to submit to a breath test.
Christmas is still being held in the Bergen County Jail as of Tuesday, January 9, after being arrested eight days ago.
