Mocobizscene- According to a prosecutor, different cases pertaining to murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy will be merged so that a former NBA developing league player and his ex-girlfriend will face charges in connection with the death of a lady whose body was discovered in southern Nevada last month.
Chance Comanche, 27, a native of Los Angeles who was a player for the Stockton Kings prior to his arrest in Sacramento, California on December 15, appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday. When asked if he understood the charges against him by the judge while he was in shackles, he replied, “Yes, ma’am.”
Gary Guymon, Comanche’s defense lawyer, did not request bail right away and refrained from speaking after the brief court session. However, he stated that Comanche plans to enter a not guilty plea at upcoming proceedings.

Sakari Harnden, 19, Comanche’s ex-girlfriend, is likewise incarcerated in Las Vegas pending a separate hearing on a theft allegation connected to the disappearance and demise of Marayna Rodgers, 23, of Lynnwood, Washington, on Wednesday.
Kennedy Holthus, the prosecutor, informed Judge Diana Sullivan on Tuesday that Steve Wolfson, the district attorney for Clark County, plans to consolidate all of the cases against Comanche and Harnden. Sullivan fixed Comanche’s next court date for February 8 and stated that he will remain incarcerated without access to bail.
Rodgers was a medical assistant. According to Las Vegas police, she was murdered early on December 6 and her body was later discovered in a roadside ditch in the suburban Henderson area.
After attending the University of Arizona for two seasons after graduating from Beverly Hills High School in 2015, Comanche entered the NBA draft. In April of last year, he signed a free-agent contract with the Portland Trail Blazers after being undrafted, but he only appeared in one game.
Comanche joined Sacramento’s Stockton affiliate after the organization dismissed him ten days after he was signed in October.
Comanche, a 6-foot-10 power forward and center, was released by the Stockton Kings, the Sacramento Kings’ NBA G League franchise, after his arrest. On December 5, during the team’s game against the G League Henderson Ignite, he finished with 16 points and six rebounds.
