Mocobizscene- Texas families are facing tragic and puzzling situations as they grapple with the disappearances, and in one heartbreaking case, the death, of two Sugar Land residents. Vicki Urrutia, the mother of 41-year-old Justin Urrutia, who went missing in early November, had a somber Christmas as she sought answers.
Instead of the usual festive decorations, she set up a makeshift display to show her support for her son’s safe return. In a statement obtained by KHOU, she expressed her sadness, saying, “Christmas was not fun.” Justin was last seen by his mother just a street away from their home. His wrecked car was later discovered near I-10 in Pecos County, around seven and a half hours from his residence.
Vicki Urrutia pointed out eerie similarities between Justin’s disappearance and another local missing person’s case, comparing it to the Jason Landry case. Inside Justin’s car, his wallet, cellphone, and unopened energy drinks were found. To gather leads, Vicki enlisted the help of private investigator Colman Ryan, who aims to track Justin’s whereabouts using his cellphone and computer records.
However, given the scarcity of surveillance footage and the urgency of the situation, Ryan acknowledged that the chances of discovering new evidence are diminishing with time. He emphasized the importance of acting swiftly, stating, “Time is crucial. Most video footage is only retained for a week, maybe two. The more time that passes, the lower the probability of obtaining that crucial evidence.”
The families affected by both cases are feeling frustrated and are determined to seek justice. Trevion Butler, before his tragic death, was last seen leaving work the previous Wednesday. His mother, Andrea Butler, expressed her frustration with the unusual sequence of events that unfolded when the police unexpectedly showed up at their doorstep in the middle of the night.
They were looking for Trevion after a friend reported a stolen gun. Despite initial findings by the Sugar Land Police Department that suggested no foul play, Andrea managed to obtain crucial surveillance footage from a neighbor. The footage showed her son near the area where his body was later discovered by a volunteer, near abandoned apartments. It is a heartbreaking realization that he was found in a place so close to home.
As Thanksgiving approaches, the family continues to grapple with the pain of their loss. Andrea Butler, expressing the immense sorrow of a mother, shared with KPRC 2, “I wish you could have exper
The Houston Police are currently investigating both cases and are urging anyone with information to come forward. If you would like to support the Butler family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe account has been created to help cover the expenses of the funeral.
