Norfolk Man Arrested After Barricade Situation On Saturday Night

Mocobizscene- A man was apprehended after a barricade situation occurred in Norfolk on Saturday night.

Police responded to a call about a person with a weapon in the 3200 block of Kimball Terrace at approximately 8:32 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a man had reportedly assaulted a 55-year-old individual and then barricaded himself inside a residence.

The man, aged 55, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening when he was attacked. He was then taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team swiftly arrived at the scene and successfully apprehended 29-year-old Jaqua M. Tann at approximately 2:25 a.m., with no complications or resistance.

Tann faces charges of malicious wounding and robbery. In addition to these charges, he had other outstanding warrants for unrelated incidents at the time of his arrest. He is currently in custody at Norfolk City Jail, with no bond set.
