Mocobizscene-A man who was being sought for murder in Washington, D.C. has been captured in La Porte County, Indiana.
54-year-old Alberto Valle-Carranza is wanted for his involvement in a murder case in the Northwest district of Washington, D.C. Law enforcement officials state that Valle-Carranza is accused of fatally stabbing a 31-year-old woman during a domestic dispute in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
On Wednesday afternoon, the members of the area Fugitive Task Force received a tip about Valle-Carranza’s whereabouts. The tip indicated that he was on a bus traveling from Chicago to Michigan City. Acting swiftly, the officers from the La Porte County Sheriff’s Department immediately sprang into action. Two Sheriff’s sergeants intercepted the bus, while two other members of the Fugitive Apprehension Street Team positively identified Valle-Carranza among the passengers.
The authorities took the suspect to the La Porte County Jail and pressed charges against them for Second-Degree Murder while Armed. Homicide detectives from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department arrived in La Porte on Friday to continue their investigation. Valle-Carranza is currently held without bond while awaiting extradition.
