Around 10 p.m., the marine distress channel was activated, prompting a swift response from Long Beach Fire Department’s marine safety team and the police department’s Fox helicopter. Captain Jack Crabtree of the Long Beach Fire Department confirmed this.
According to Crabtree, the paramedics safely transported the passengers to nearby hospitals and seemed to be in stable condition.
Marine safety boats that were present at the Naples Boat Parade were able to respond swiftly to the collision site thanks to enhanced safety measures. These boats worked towards righting the capsized boat and collaborated with lifeguard boats for towing purposes. Their presence in the area proved instrumental in the prompt response to the incident.
There was some confusion regarding whether the boats were included in the Naples Boat Parade, which started at approximately 6 p.m. and ended at around 8 p.m. Six individuals were rescued after their boat capsized near Island Chaffee, just a few hours after the Naples Boat Parade.
