Mocobizscene- Last week, the city of New Orleans experienced a significant surge in crime, with a total of 2,702 reported cases. Most of these incidents fell into the category of ‘Other’, accounting for 1,307 cases. Following closely behind were theft and burglary, with 340 and 308 reported cases, respectively. Assault cases were also notable, with 183 incidents, while suspicious situations were reported 148 times.
Additionally, 114 arguments escalated to the point of police intervention and 87 hit-and-run incidents. Alarmingly, the city also witnessed 59 shootings. While comparatively more minor in numbers, cases involving trespassing and vandalism amounted to 53 and 47, respectively. These statistics paint a concerning picture of the city’s safety situation, demanding immediate attention and action.
