Possible occurrence of severe storms on Tuesday with high intensity

A potent storm system is making its way towards SGA, with possibilities of strong to severe weather conditions tomorrow. The areas near the AL/GA line are under a Slight Risk, while a Marginal Risk covers all other areas. The primary threats from the storm include damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and isolated tornadoes. The storms are expected to hit on Tuesday between 10 am to 11 pm.

While severe weather may not be widespread, it’s always best to be prepared for any watches or warnings. To stay informed, download WALB’s First Alert Weather App and keep your NOAA weather radio handy.

On Tuesday, the storms are expected to subside with the possibility of some lingering into early Wednesday, as the cold front moves towards the east. As the boundary moves away, drier and significantly colder air will filter in with brisk NW winds. The temperatures will drop, resulting in colder highs in the low 60s with some clearing. Thanksgiving will kick off with a holiday chill, with temperatures in the low 40s and highs only reaching the upper 50s to low 60s.

On Thursday evening, an area of low pressure will move northwards from the Gulf, bringing with it cloud cover and the possibility of rain. Although the showers are set to taper off early on Friday, the overcast conditions are expected to persist with some gradual clearing on Saturday. However, come Sunday, sunshine will be abundant. Despite this, temperatures will remain below average with highs in the low to mid 60s and lows in the 40s.
