Joe Biden, President of the United States, to visit Atlanta for campaign purposes and deliver commencement speech at Morehouse College

President Joe Biden is scheduled to arrive in Atlanta on Saturday for a weekend filled with various events.

Before holding a campaign event, the president will arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Channel 2 Action News at Noon will provide the latest updates on President Biden’s arrival at the airport, with Bryan Mims reporting live from the scene.

The organizers have not yet disclosed any specific information about the campaign events.

On Sunday morning, President Biden will be delivering the commencement address at Morehouse College.

There has been some controversy surrounding his presence during Morehouse’s commencement ceremony.

On Friday, a protest march took place on the Morehouse College campus, where a small group of student and faculty members came together to express their criticism of the war in Gaza and the president’s visit.

“I can see why he is being invited from a political standpoint, but it doesn’t make any sense morally or on a human level for the college to invite him or grant him an honorary degree,” expressed Anwar Karim, a student at Morehouse.

Morehouse College President David Thomas has emphasized that any disruptive protests during the graduation ceremony will not be tolerated.

According to the president of Morehouse College, disruptive behavior that hinders the smooth flow of the ceremony or services and prevents attendees from fully participating and enjoying the event will not be tolerated. He specifically mentioned prolonged shouting down of the president while speaking as an example. In such cases, he stated that he would immediately halt the ceremonies. However, he assured that the campus of Morehouse College would not become a scene where individuals are being forcefully removed by the police.
