Work is well underway in Silver Spring’s Fenton Village Neighborhood for what is expected to become a restaurant and bar catering to the vegan crowd.
Located in the ground floor space at 900 Thayer Avenue of the newly completed Fenton Silver Spring apartment building, the new restaurant space is currently under construction and could be ready to serve customers within two months.
The restaurant will also serve alcohol and it has applied for a Montgomery County liquor license under the name Papa Shermans. It is expected to have a hearing in two weeks on January 20.
Black Lion Café, with a location in North Rockville, was first to lease retail space at the mixed-use project and would be the second location for the coffeehouse. It sits directly across from the latest addition and is expected to open in Spring of 2022.
Fenton Silver Spring is a 124-unit, 100 percent affordable apartment building developed by Montgomery County Housing Opportunities Commission and The Concourse Group. It has more than 5,500 square feet of retail that is now fully leased.
