Don’t Forget! The Taste the World of Fenton Village Starts Tomorrow

MBS Staff

Don’t forget to visit your favorite downtown Silver Spring restaurants as they celebrate Taste the World of Fenton Village starting tomorrow. More than two dozen small businesses have gathered to provide you a taste of some unique food offerings at special pricing.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic small businesses from the area haven’t let that stop them from holding the 10th anniversary of the event. The businesses have created work-arounds (including emphasis on ensuring that community health is protected) that will allow them to hold the event for a week and run from Sunday, May 17, through Saturday, May 23.

While patrons can’t eat inside the restaurants — due to the executive order of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and the continuance of the stay-at-home order by Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich — they’ll be able to pickup takeout from the participating businesses.

As a bonus, everyone who orders food from a participating business will be eligible for a raffle ticket to win three, $50 "Fenton Village Bucks" that can be used once dine-in options are allowed. Just fill out this form after placing your order.

Downtown Silver Spring and Fenton Village contain one of the largest concentrations of ethnically diverse restaurant businesses in the Washington, D.C. area. Some of the diverse dining options that can be found there include West African, Italian, Ethiopian, Caribbean, Greek, Thai, Latin, Indian, Soul Food and much more including a fast-growing microbrew industry.
