In the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic small businesses need to be privy to all the resources they can find. While some information can be hard to come by than others it’s always good to take advantage of the resources when you do come across them. The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) recently launched a newsletter small businesses might want to take note of.

In particular — for those Montgomery County small businesses that focus on the life-sciences, the NIBIB newsletter is a resource for program mission, policies, training and most importantly funding opportunities and processes.

One of the noteworthy highlights are two Federally mandated programs — the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) — they involve set-aside grants geared towards technology transfer and commercialization.

From a businesses intital stages the programs provide support divided into three phases and the first two phases have awards available ranging from $252,131 to $1,680.879 but keep an eye on the deadlines (this program in particular is on September 5th, 2020).

Learn more about the newsletter right on the NIBIB homepage.
