New York Area Developer Submits Plans For Downtown Silver Spring Project

A Developer from the New York City metropolitan area submitted plans for a residential and retail project in downtown Silver Spring.

The application was accepted by the Montgomery County, Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission on May 20.

The Hoboken, New Jersey-based developer called Ironstate Development Company, is in the initial stages for a project along Silver Spring avenue that could be more than 300 residential units and retail with 2-level underground parking.

Ironstate has a series of multi-family projects under the Urby branding name. The Silver Spring project would be marketed as Urby - Silver Spring. The company already has several multi-family projects in the New York and Northern New Jersey areas. According to projects listed on the company's websites the Silver Spring project would be the first by the developer in the Washington, D.C. area.
