A variety of Naz's Halal Foods

Naz’s Halal Food opened its doors for the first time in the D.C. metro area in Burtonsville last year. Now two more locations in Montgomery County are getting ready to serve customers.

Hailing from Queens, New York, two cousins Naz and Kareem began Naz’s Halal Food as a food truck operation in 2009. The truck was intended to only perform as a side business in addition to their 9-to-5 jobs as New York City Public School teachers. Less than ten years later the company’s first brick and mortar restaurant opened in January of 2018.

The company uses a franchise model and serves a wide variety of Halal foods including several types of rice platters ranging from chicken and kofta kabab to falafel over rice. They also serve gyros, sandwiches, buffalo wings, and baklava for dessert at competitive prices.

The two restaurants expected to open soon will be in Germantown and Rockville. The Rockville location will open in the Edmonston Crossing Shopping Center along Rockville Pike.
