Montgomery County Health and Human Services Giving Grants to Nonprofits Serving County Residents; Emphasis on COVID-19 services, Deadline Approaching
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced it is accepting applications from nonprofits for its Community Services Grants Program for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23).
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the County Government says it’s looking for community nonprofits that can promote a safe, healthy, and self-sufficient neighborhoods in support of the Health Department’s projects. Nonprofits would be reimbursed for things such as approved equipment and other capital purchases that occur between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.
“These grants are about empowering neighbors to help neighbors,” said DHHS Director Dr. Raymond Crowel. “At a time when the needs in our community have been greatly exacerbated by the pandemic, I am proud to know that these dollars will go a long way to strengthen our County’s robust social safety net.”
Community nonprofits could receive a one-time grant of up to $10,000, the Department will review and evaluate all submissions, but emphasis will be given to applicants who directly contribute to the COVID-19 pandemic.
