North Bethesda-based Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE:FRT) has signed an Indian restaurant and catering service, filling a vacant space at Quince Orchard Plaza in Gaithersburg. The lease leaves only a couple of spaces open at the main retail portion of the shopping center.

The new restaurant called MiyaJi Kebab & Rumali Rolls will be located at 674 Quince Orchard Road, and it takes over a 2,285 square feet space that was formerly occupied by Pho Eatery, which was in connection with Urban Crawfish. Both restaurants closed late last year.

It’s not the owners of MiyaJi Kebab & Rumali Rolls first time doing business with Federal Realty. Led by Sunil Bastola, the chef is also in charge of the Commonwealth Indian Restaurant in the Pike and Rose mixed-use development which Federal Realty also owns.

The Commonwealth Indian restaurant located at 11610 Old Georgetown Road serves a thali lunch with a Basmati Rice, Naan, and Desert. The restaurant also serves Chicken Tikka Masala and exotic dishes such as Tandoori Octopus.

MiyaJi Kebab & Rumali Rolls would take a different direction than the Commonwealth Indian restaurant offering its own unique menu items.
