It has been decades in the making, but a high-end shopping center in North Bethesda is getting a new addition that will add residential and ground floor retail. And to push the project forward, management also just signed their first commercial tenant, a restaurant group from D.C. that is planning on opening a new concept at the project.

A Calico concept has signed on for a 3,257 square foot restaurant space in the Mercury at Wildwood Shopping Center, a brand-new infill mixed-use project by Alvin L. Aubinoe, Inc. It’s next to the same shopping center that includes retail tenants such as Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market, South Moon Under, Bethesda Bagels, and FishTaco.

The Mercury, located at 10401 Old Georgetown Road, is a 60-unit residential building geared towards residences age 55 and up due to a deed covenant. The five-story 106,000 square foot building includes a total of 11,000 square feet of ground floor retail and 60 underground parking spaces.

More info will be coming as the story develops.
