Just before McHale Landscape Design celebrates its 40th anniversary, the award-winning, residential landscape architecture and design-build firm made one of its biggest acquisitions to date.

Upper Marlboro-based McHale entered into a definitive purchase agreement on January 4 to purchase Hawkins Landscape Service. Bethesda Chevy Chase-based Hawkins is a considered a high-end firm in the residential design/build and estate gardening industry, and it was started by Bob Hawkins more than three decades ago.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Hawkins Landscape Service team into the McHale family,” said Keith Bowman, Director of Business Development at McHale Landscape Design.

“The agreement aligns with our long-term vision for growth—for further market share in a region we have a presence, as well as opportunities for McHale associates to grow and develop their careers with a leader in residential estate gardening throughout the greater DC region.”

The combined firms will serve an expanded area in the region, including Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Potomac Upper Marlboro, Annapolis, McLean, Easton, and Clarksburg.
