A women’s clothing retailer based in Fenwick Island, Deleware has picked Bethesda for its first brick & mortar location in the Washington, D.C. area.

Indigo Octopus is expected to open summer or early fall 2020, the company was started by former South Moon Under head buyer Michelle Gemberling. South Moon Under is based in Ocean City, Maryland and has grown to have a national foot print.

“We received such a positive response to our pop-up shop in DC this past December,” said Gemberling “We were able to test the waters with our curated selection of hard-to-find-in-stores designers and delighted to see the region’s fashion savvy crowd celebrated our aesthetic. We’re excited to have a more permanent presence in the region and grow our current consumer fan base.”

The store will be located at the Wildwood Shopping Center along old Georgetown road and owned by Rockville-based Federal Realty Investment Trust.
