GNC In Gaithersburg’s RIO / Washingtonian Center Will Close Permanently
GNC Holdings Inc., the parent company of the General Nutrition Centers (GNC) stores, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and with that the announcement of a massive amount of closings that will total 1,200 retail locations.
The first batch to close will include three stores in Maryland. Hitting close to home will be the closure of RIO/Washingtonian Center location in Gaithersburg.
Additional stores in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to close is a store in Sterling, Virginia at the Dulles 28 shopping center and another northern Virginia store in Vienna, located at the Maple Avenue Shopping Center.
The Pittsburgh-based company has about 5,200 retail locations in the United States
