Rockville-based Choice Hotels (NYSE: CHH) upscale Cambria Hotel brand continues to grow rapidly, as the hospitality giant recently announced its first Austin hotel for the brand. It will be the sixth Cambria Hotel in Texas with another opening later this year labeled Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown Rainey Street.

Located at 7800 E. Ben White Boulevard, Choice Hotels says the 127-room Cambria Hotel Austin Airport is not only less than two miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport but also just minutes from the new Tesla Gigafactory.

"Ideal for travelers flying in to explore this vibrant city or if in town for work, the Cambria Hotel Austin Airport provides the convenience of everything Austin has to offer — in addition to all the little luxuries and upscale amenities that elevate the guest experience," said Janis Cannon, senior vice president, upscale brands, Choice Hotels.

"With Texas being one of the fastest-growing states in the country, it's only fitting that we debut our first hotel in Central Texas and the sixth hotel overall in the Lone Star State, following openings in Houston, McAllen, Plano, Richardson and Southlake."

Amenities featured at the hotel include locally inspired design and décor (reflecting the unique personality of Austin's music, food, and architecture), spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors, an outdoor pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

In addition, the Backstage Bar & Grill is an onsite dining option featuring wine and craft cocktails with Austin made Tito's vodka.

Late last year, Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH) made a surprise announcement saying it would become the anchor tenant for 915 Meeting Street at Pike and Rose in North Bethesda. The company will lease 40 percent (105,000 square feet) of the 266,000 square foot, 16-story office tower being developed by North Bethesda-based Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT).
