While sitting in a parked SUV, a man was injured and a woman lost her life due to a shooting incident in Michigan City. Upon arriving at a residence located on Calumet Avenue, law enforcement officials stumbled upon the victims who were situated inside a vehicle.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that David “DJ” Wilson Jr. had arrived at the scene and fired gunshots into the SUV before fleeing. He was apprehended shortly thereafter when he crashed his vehicle in the 3200 block of Dody Avenue. Upon his arrest, law enforcement officials found a stolen handgun in his possession, and the vehicle he was operating had been reported stolen.
Wilson stands accused of a multitude of charges, ranging from murder and attempted murder to aggravated battery, criminal confinement, possession of a firearm as a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness, firearm theft, auto theft, and driving with a suspended license. At present, he remains in custody without the possibility of being released on bond.
