Barton man near DeWitt loses life in single-vehicle accident

Tragically, a Barton man lost his life on Monday due to a single-vehicle accident near DeWitt.

According to the initial report from the Arkansas State Police, Cedric Moore, who was 60 years old, was driving a 2017 Mack truck heading west on Arkansas Hwy. 276 near Devore Road when the vehicle suddenly swerved across the eastbound lane and went off the road. The truck then hit the roadside ditch and flipped over onto its driver’s side. Sadly, Moore was pronounced dead on the spot.

According to the report from the investigating officer, the weather was clear and the road surface was dry when the accident occurred. The accident happened at 4:45 a.m. and it was the 443rd fatality on the state highway this year.
