According to authorities, a shooting incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at a variety store situated on East 30th Street and North Mitthoefer Road, resulting in the death of a man.
Currently, no information has been shared regarding the identity or age of the man in question.
At approximately 3:53 p.m. on Tuesday, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received a report of a person shot and immediately dispatched officers to 10020 E. 30th St. This address corresponds to a Family Dollar store located on the far east side of Indianapolis.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement officers discovered an individual who had sustained gunshot injuries. Initially, the victim was said to be in critical condition, but unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries later on.
According to officers from the Lawrence Police Department, they were able to locate another individual who had been shot at the intersection of East 56th Street and North Post Road.
After the Family Dollar incident, investigators discovered that the second man involved in the altercation had also sustained gunshot wounds. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and was reported to be in critical condition.
According to IMPD, there were no reports of any injuries to store workers or shoppers during the shooting incident, and all individuals involved have been identified. As part of the investigation, the store has been closed temporarily.
