According to officials, the 9-year-old girl who went missing from an upstate New York park was discovered on Monday. The young girl was found hiding in a cabinet within a camper. The man who is suspected of abducting her left a ransom note at her parent’s residence, which bore his fingerprints. It’s a relief that the girl was found safe and sound.
According to NY State Police, Charlotte Sena, who disappeared during a bike ride while camping with her family at Moreau Lake State Park on Saturday, is now confirmed to be in good health.
According to reports, Craig Ross Jr., who is 47 years old, is the suspect involved in the alleged abduction of Charlotte. It is believed that he left a note at her family’s residence, which may have included a ransom demand.
During an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN, Governor Kathy Hochul revealed that the perpetrator responsible for the recent ransom note was apprehended by investigators who were able to use fingerprints left at the scene to track them down.
According to Hochul, the presence of a ransom note was a crucial factor that helped them identify the suspect. “His fingerprint was already in the database,” she added.
As per the investigation conducted by the state police, they were able to identify a person who was present in the park during the time Sena disappeared. This information has been confirmed by the authorities.
According to authorities, Sena was found by investigators at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday when they searched several homes related to the individual. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after.
According to an article from the Albany Times Union, sources have reported that Charlotte Sena was discovered in a trailer located adjacent to a house in Milton, where a relative of one of the suspects resides.
Despite an extensive 18-hour search of the park, which was conducted by state police, FBI agents, and 34 volunteer fire departments, using police dogs, drones, boats, and underwater teams, there was no sign of the young girl who disappeared during a bike ride. The search was initiated after the girl, Charlotte Sena, was last seen around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday at Moreau Lake State Park.
On Sunday morning, an AMBER Alert was activated for a child abduction that included Charlotte’s photo and information.
According to the alert, the police have reason to believe that the child was taken under circumstances that could result in serious harm and/or death.
According to State Police Lt. Col. Richard Mazzone, as of Monday afternoon, the investigators’ belief was that Charlotte, hailing from Greenfield, had already left the park.
During a recent press conference on the search for the missing girl, Gov. Kathy Hochul expressed her admiration for the unwavering dedication of the police force. She commended their tireless efforts in the pursuit of finding the missing individual.
