US Marshals operation includes Albuquerque, leading to thousands of arrests

According to a recent report, a US Marshals operation conducted across more than a dozen states, including New Mexico, resulted in the apprehension of over 4,000 fugitives. Among the states involved in the operation was Albuquerque, New Mexico, where several arrests were made. The operation was a resounding success and a testament to the US Marshals’ commitment to ensuring public safety. The US Marshals’ efforts are to be commended, and we can all sleep a little easier knowing that these fugitives are off the streets.

During the third phase of Operation North Star, the focus was on targeting violent offenders in 20 different cities across the region.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland emphasized the collaborative efforts of the Justice Department and law enforcement agencies throughout the nation to target violent fugitives who commit the most heinous crimes in our communities.

A staggering number of warrants, amounting to almost 3,000, have been cleared for a range of crimes including homicide, rape, and robbery.

To date, law enforcement officials have confiscated over 500 firearms, a sum of cash exceeding $1 million, and almost 200 pounds of illicit drugs through their investigations.

The marshals have reported that they have apprehended over 6,700 fugitives in three different phases of the operation. Shockingly, out of this number, 900 individuals have been charged with murder.

The Marshals focused their attention on a number of cities, including but not limited to Albuquerque, Detroit, Memphis, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and Oakland.
