KCKPD release new information about a homicide outside an auto parts store

According to homicide investigators, the individual who was found deceased at an O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Kansas City, Kansas, was not shot. Rather, it appears that the person died as a result of a physical altercation with store employees outside the establishment. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday evening and the victim is believed to have been a suspected shoplifter.

According to KCKPD, all individuals who participated in the altercation, including the employees, have been apprehended by the police. Meanwhile, another suspected shoplifter is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital for their injuries. The incident occurred outside an O’Reilly Auto Parts store.

According to investigators, two men entered the store located at North 47th Street and Parallel Parkway and started shoplifting. This led to an altercation outside, which prompted a call to the officers just before 6:30 p.m.

The man who was found unresponsive received CPR from officers at the scene while the second man, who sustained minor injuries, was immediately taken to the hospital by emergency workers.

The identities of both men who were involved in the incident have not been disclosed yet. Additionally, the employees who were arrested have also not been named.

The investigation by KCKPD is ongoing.
