US Marshals operation arrests over 100 fugitives in Kansas City

In their most recent nationwide operation, the U.S. Marshals apprehended more than 100 fugitives in Kansas City alone. This was part of a larger effort that resulted in the arrests of over 4,000 suspects across 20 cities by federal agents.

Operation North Star III, which spanned across major cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Washington D.C., and Kansas City, was successfully executed as a part of the initiative.

In all 20 cities, the Marshals successfully apprehended 4,455 fugitives, with a hefty 2,818 of them being wanted for violent crimes such as homicide, sexual assault, and robbery.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the authorities confiscated 85 kilograms of illegal drugs, over 500 firearms, and more than $1 million in illicit currency during the investigation.

The operation conducted in Kansas City resulted in the apprehension of 104 individuals by the Marshals. Additionally, they were able to seize 10 firearms as part of the operation.

Collaborating with Kansas City police, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and other local law enforcement members, Marshals conducted their operations.

According to the agency, this marks the third Operation North Star carried out by Marshals since July 2022, with a total of over 6,700 fugitives apprehended thus far.
