Feds: Two Individuals Confess to Shooting Murder Victim with 28 Rounds Outside DC Church

On Monday, federal authorities announced that Joseph Brown, aged 33, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder while armed, and Rondell McLeod has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter while armed, in connection to the death of 21-year-old Amari Jenkins. Notably, McLeod was already incarcerated for a separate case.

On August 18, 2015, a tragic incident of a fatal shooting was reported in front of St. Luke’s Catholic Church situated on East Capitol Street NE.

According to the locals from Washington, DC, they have acknowledged that they were involved in the shooting incident that led to Jenkins’ death. On that fateful day, they drove a blue van and stopped in front of the church. They discharged 28 rounds of ammunition at Jenkins before quickly retreating back into their van and making their escape.

The sentencing for both individuals is set for December.

According to prosecutors, McLeod, who is presently behind bars for 11 years on federal robbery charges in Maryland, will face the argument that his new sentence should commence at the conclusion of his prior sentence.
