Elephants take revenge after a hunter kills one of their herd

The tables have turned and those who were once in control are now being pursued.

As the colossal creatures saunter by, the man readies his weapon and takes aim. His guide offers a piece of advice, “Aim for the spot right between its eyes.”

After being hit with three bullets, the bull elephant eventually succumbs to death.

The hunters had little time to revel in their success.

Upon the elephant’s impact on the ground, a group of the herd swiftly redirects their attention towards the men and begins to charge towards them.

Several years ago, a video was recorded in the Nakabolelwa Conservancy in Namibia, depicting elephants trumpeting and stomping in the direction of hunters who were fleeing the scene. The clip showcases the elephants’ fierce defense of their territory and their herd.

Resurfaced footage shows a pair of hunters being chased by elephants after shooting a member of the herd.

When the controversial footage of hunters being charged by elephants after killing one of their own went viral in 2018, Corné Kruger, the owner of Omujeve Hunting Safaris, defended his company’s practices. He stated that they only hunt two elephants per year, as there is a limited number of them in the area. In an interview with News24, Kruger made it clear that his company strictly adheres to the quota, despite the backlash from animal rights activists.

According to him, the act of hunting brings financial advantages to the local communities of Namibia. It is worth mentioning that trophy hunting is prohibited in Namibia, and hunters must obtain a special license to hunt big game such as elephants.

It’s not uncommon for hunters to face dire consequences when coming across wild elephants. These majestic creatures are incredibly powerful and can pose a serious threat if provoked.
