On Tuesday, a man was robbed of his wallet and cellphone before being violently pushed onto the subway tracks in Brooklyn, according to police. The incident occurred in Cypress Hills and has left the victim shaken and traumatized. Such callous acts of violence are deeply concerning and should not be tolerated in our communities. According to the NYPD, the victim, who was 30 years old, was minding his own business sitting on the bench on the platform in the Grant Avenue subway station when the assailant robbed him at approximately 4:15 a.m. The suspect engaged in a physical altercation with the victim and ultimately pushed him onto the tracks.
According to the police, several bystanders came forward to assist the man in getting back on the platform. The victim was then immediately taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
After the incident occurred, the thief made a quick escape and has yet to be apprehended by authorities.
