On Monday, Macon welcomed U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, who visited to bring attention to the bipartisan Pathways to Prosperity Act. The Act focuses on enhancing job training and skill development programs at community and technical colleges. Senator Ossoff, along with Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock and Senator Mike Braun (R-IN), played a key role in introducing this legislation.
During a press conference held in partnership with Central Georgia Technical College, Senator Ossoff discussed his initiatives to increase employment opportunities for the people of Georgia.
The Strengthening Community Colleges Grant Program, a federal program that provides competitive grants to community and technical colleges to support partnerships between colleges and employers, is set to receive a boost from the bipartisan bill. The bill aims to strengthen and expand this program, thus providing more opportunities for community and technical colleges to collaborate with employers.
Georgia is striving to ensure that more of its residents have access to job training programs.
The primary goal of this legislation is to enhance the effectiveness of job training and skills development initiatives in community and technical colleges.
