Desperate family seeks answers as they remain stranded at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport

While on their way to their new home in Florida, a military family who had relocated from Hawaii found themselves stranded in Atlanta with limited options. In their interview with Channel 2 Action News, they narrated their experience of being stuck in the city for several days.

Elizabeth Rawlins from Channel 2 was told by a family of eight that they had been stranded at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for nearly 48 hours and were in dire need of information.

The Cook family had initially planned to drive from Atlanta to Florida. However, upon reaching the airport, they were unable to locate their car and even faced difficulty in finding a rental car to leave the town.

They had to ultimately take another flight to reach their destination, and they informed Channel 2 Action News that they have lost thousands of dollars in the process.

Sean Cook described it as chaotic, and it seems to be the most accurate word to use.

Weeks ago, the family had their car shipped from Hawaii to the mainland United States.

Cook revealed that the object has been present for the past three weeks.

Upon their arrival in California, the family received disheartening news: their car was not in Atlanta as expected. The car transport tracking website indicated that the vehicle was still at the port in San Diego.

When the Cook family arrived in Atlanta, they were hoping to reserve an SUV and a truck to accommodate their large family and all their luggage for their trip to Florida. Unfortunately, they were once again disappointed to find out that there was no available transportation for them to drive.

According to Cook, upon arrival, they were informed that no cars were available.

The family had no other choice but to take a flight in order to reach Florida.

As Cook and his family were preparing to board their final flight, he spoke with Channel 2 Action News.

Cook noted that although they departed Hawaii on July 3rd, they arrived on July 5th due to the time difference. “So, we left Hawaii technically on July 3, and now were on July 5,” Cook said.

Upon arriving at their new hometown, they will still lack means of transportation.

According to Cook, there is still uncertainty regarding the arrival of the car and he will have to return to Atlanta whenever it finally arrives.

Sometime later this month, the car will arrive in Atlanta, guaranteed.
