According to recent reports, additional details have surfaced regarding a significant drug bust in South Bend. The bust involved an enormous amount of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, which was found to be enough to cause fatalities for almost every individual in the viewing area.

The authorities have recently filed a federal criminal complaint in the Northern District of Indiana following a successful bust that took place on South Bend’s west side. The operation occurred on Tuesday morning in the 700 block of S. Bendix Drive.

We have covered similar incidents previously, but this particular one can only be described as enormous. Hazmat crews were summoned to provide decontamination to both the equipment and personnel involved.

The authorities discovered an array of firearms, including rifles and handguns, along with nearly 500 grams of marijuana and a staggering 990 grams of fentanyl. It is worth noting that some of the seized fentanyl could be lethal to almost half a million individuals.

Currently, there are numerous pills undergoing testing. Additionally, law enforcement discovered 75 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of crack cocaine, and a digital scale.

The authorities apprehended Denardo McCormack, a 32-year-old, during the raid, and there was no resistance from him.

He is scheduled to make his first appearance in federal court on Monday, July 8th.
