Breaking News: Two women dead in Staten Island Expressway Corvette crash

According to authorities, 22-year-old Jianna Pischetola was driving her sports car in an eastbound direction on the expressway when she suddenly hit a guardrail near Clove Road at approximately 11 p.m.

Police reported that due to the impact of the collision, the car flipped over and collided with a 2018 Ford F150 pickup truck that was travelling in the centre lane of the eastbound thorofare.

According to police, the high-performance vehicle slid across the road before finally stopping in the HOV lane, where it ignited into flames.

Law enforcement officials have reported that during the collision, Gabriella Shammas, who was a passenger seated in the front of the Corvette and was 22 years old, was ejected from the vehicle.

According to authorities, the two women were pronounced dead on arrival by paramedics.

Police reported that despite the collision, the driver of the pickup truck and two passengers miraculously escaped unscathed.

The crash at the intersection of New Dorp Lane and 10th St. in Staten Island resulted in the second fatal wreck in less than eight hours. A 29-year-old man from Brooklyn lost his life after colliding his motorcycle with a white Dodge Ram around 3:30 p.m. The incident was reported by NY Daily News.
