The Fourth of July holiday is right around the corner and the West Tennessee region is gearing up for a multitude of celebrations.

Clare Saum, the director of marketing and PR for Discovery Park of America, shared that visitors can experience a wide variety of activities on Thursday that will make them feel like they have stepped back in time. These include scavenger hunts, blacksmith demonstrations, opportunities to interact with and take photos with living historians, and demonstrations of traditional skills and crafts in the settlement area. With so much to see and do, it’s easy to immerse oneself in the experience.

Visitors to Discovery Park can partake in a unique experience by witnessing the reenactment of the Boston Tea Party and even have the chance to take part in the annual ‘Let Freedom Ring Liberty Bell’ ceremony, which occurs only once a year.

The Hub City is in for a treat as the Firefighter Freedom Festival celebrates the holiday with an eagerly awaited fireworks show. There are various ways to commemorate the occasion, and this event is one of the best ways to do so.

According to Kim Turner, the office administrator for Madison County Fire Department, the department is planning to set off fireworks worth $15,000, which will result in a thirty-minute spectacle. She mentioned that the firefighters are the ones who will be handling the fireworks and added that firefighters, being the way they are, have a natural inclination towards blowing things up, in addition to putting out fires. Turner expressed her excitement for the event and emphasized that the show is going to be a beautiful one.
