The summer events at the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) Visitor Education Center (VEC) will commence with an exciting historical program.
On June 8 at 2 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to hear a historical program on the Enid Lake project’s construction. Mike Robinson, the former Resource Manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers at Enid Lake, will be presenting. The program promises to be informative and insightful for anyone interested in the history of the project.
Since 1972, Robinson has been collaborating with the Corps and has authored several articles about the lake’s development and the families who lived on the land before it was built. Robinson’s articles were recognized with the prestigious Howard Crittenden National Interpreters’ Award. Towards the end of the program, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a question-and-answer session.
You can enjoy the program at no extra cost as it is included in the admission fee. The entry fee is $2.50 for adults aged 18-59 while youth aged between 3-17 and adults over 60 years old can enter for $2.
Throughout the summer, the VEC has planned several events suitable for individuals of all ages to partake in.
On Saturday, the Corps of Engineers will be hosting an event about the Enid Lake construction history program. The post can be found on The Panolian.
