Jose Nelson Guerra-Sanchez

On Monday afternoon, authorities announced that Jose Nelson Guerra-Sanchez had been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing a minor. Although the initial sentence was 25 years, all but nine years were suspended.

In April, Guerra-Sanchez was found guilty after a bench trial.

After completing his prison sentence, Guerra-Sanchez has been ordered to undergo a five-year period of supervised probation, during which he must avoid any interaction with the victim or other children under the age of 18. Additionally, he is required to undergo a psychosexual evaluation and adhere to all recommendations made as part of the evaluation process.

For the remainder of his life, Guerra-Sanchez will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subjected to lifetime sex offender supervision.
