North Carolina man shares $100,000 lottery prize with friend

On May 22, a heartwarming story emerged from North Carolina. A man from the state honored a pact he made years ago and shared his $100,000 lottery prize with a friend.

Curtis Hudson, a resident of Laurinburg, was overjoyed when he won a whopping $100,000 from a $2,000,000 Diamond Deluxe ticket purchased at Carlie C’s on South Main Street. As soon as he realized his incredible luck, his first instinct was to call his friend Walter Bonds to share the exciting news.

As Bonds reminisced, he vividly remembered being able to perceive the emotion in his voice.

Years ago, the men entered into a lottery agreement.

“We made a pact that if either of us were to win a significant prize, we would divide it,” Bonds explained. “And true to our word, we both honored the agreement.”

Both men mentioned that they often purchase scratch-off tickets.

Hudson explained that she buys whatever she feels good about at the time.

Hudson expressed his intention to utilize his share of the winnings for various home improvement projects, while Bonds revealed his plan to save his portion of the money.
