Chicago police arrest man accused of killing his father in Columbus last November

A man who was accused of murdering his father in November has been apprehended in Chicago.

Samuel Haynes was taken into custody by the police on Tuesday.

Samuel Haynes stands accused of the murder of his father, Billy, as reported by Channel 2 Action News.

Patrol officers from the Columbus police department responded to a welfare check at a residence on Lawyers Lane at approximately 5 p.m. on November 19, 2023.

Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement authorities have confirmed the existence of probable cause and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Samuel, the 31-year-old son, in connection with the murder case.

On Wednesday, the police confirmed that Haynes had been apprehended and is currently awaiting extradition to Columbus.
