The South Carolina Coroner has recently disclosed the cause of death for a mother who went missing after making a frantic 911 call several months ago.
Jamilla Smith, a 30-year-old woman, went missing on December 2, 2023, in Aiken County, located on the border of Georgia and South Carolina.
On May 2, authorities made a public statement revealing the discovery of Smith’s remains in a wooded area adjacent to Silver Bluff Road.
According to WJBF, the Aiken County Coroner revealed that Smith’s cause of death was gunshot wounds to the head.
Daniel Harmon, Smith’s ex-boyfriend, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and murder in connection to Smith’s death.
Bryan Hampton, a resident of Augusta, and Clyde Hendley, hailing from Bath, SC, have also been taken into custody in connection with the case on charges of being accessories after the fact.
