Two teenagers were killed and another was ejected and injured in a predawn collision on east Alabama’s I-85

An early-morning crash in eastern Alabama killed two teenagers and critically injured another.

At 4:21 a.m. Friday, Valley police officers were called to Interstate 85 northbound near mile marker 73.

Officers arrived to find a single-vehicle crash, according to Police Chief Mike Reynolds.

Both the driver and a passenger, both 19 and from Lanett, died at the site. Another ejected passenger was discovered in the median.

He was taken to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus for treatment. His status was not immediately known, although he is likewise 19 years old and from Lanett.

The Valley Police Department and the Chambers County Coroner’s office are currently investigating the crash, according to Reynolds.
