Rockville Fugitive Dies After Being Bitten by Dog, Police Report

Police in Pennsylvania arrested a man from Maryland who was wanted for sex crimes, and it was all thanks to his dog.

According to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers were dispatched to a report of a “dog bite victim” on Tuesday, April 30, along a section of East King Street in Abbotstown.

Jeffrey Garcia, 31, of Rockville, MD, the owner of the dog, was found by the authorities. It didn’t take long for the troopers to realize that Garcia had two outstanding warrants for sexual assault in Maryland, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

Garcia was apprehended without any trouble and transported to the Adams County Prison to appear for his arraignment.

The Rockville resident has a history with the law, with a rap sheet dating back to 2011. According to the Maryland Sex Offender Registry, Garcia is classified as a Tier 1 offender due to a previous arrest and charge for a fourth-degree sex offense.

State police have not released any information about Garcia’s next court appearance.
