North Carolina authorities apprehend man accused of murdering his grandmother, according to Clayton County sheriff

A man from Clayton County has been apprehended in North Carolina for the alleged murder of his grandmother, according to Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen.

Deputies arrived at a residence on Clearview Circle in Riverdale on Thursday to perform a wellness check. Upon their arrival, they discovered an elderly woman with injuries to her face, neck, and body, according to officials.

CCSO officials have identified Takeem Rashad Moore, 33, as the suspect in the death of his grandmother.

Moore was apprehended in Buncombe County, North Carolina with assistance from the U.S. Marshals and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
