Florida college students participate in nationwide pro-Palestinian protests

Students at several public universities in Florida have joined the nationwide wave of pro-Palestinian demonstrations. However, their protests have been comparatively smaller and quieter, without the intense police presence witnessed at other campuses.

Around 100 students gathered at the University of Florida’s Plaza of the Americas for a protest that lasted two days. The protest created a small “liberation zone” on the grassy area, and surprisingly, no arrests were made.

Students arrived at Florida State University’s Landis Green bright and early, setting up their posters and tents as early as 4 a.m.
