Gwinnett County home destroyed as car catches fire in garage, report fire officials

A car fire in the garage of a Gwinnett County home led to the complete destruction of the house.

Firefighters from Gwinnett County swiftly responded to a house fire at Crestside Ridge in Snellville at approximately 8:30 p.m., as reported by fire officials.

Upon reaching the location, they were met with a distressing sight – flames engulfing the garage, emitting a thick cloud of smoke.

According to investigators, a vehicle mechanic was performing maintenance on a car inside the garage. When the mechanic attempted to start the vehicle, the engine suddenly ignited and burst into flames.

Three individuals were present in the residence when the fire ignited.

The occupants were promptly alerted about the fire, and luckily, they managed to safely evacuate the house without any reported injuries.
