Four Individuals, Including Grandmother, Taken Into Custody for Alleged Involvement in the Murder Case of Missing Kansas Mothers

Tifany Machel Adams, 54, the grandmother of Veronica Butler’s children who went missing, was taken into custody on Saturday. She has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. Alongside Adams, her boyfriend Tad Bert Cullum and two friends, Cora and Cole Earl Twombly, were also arrested on the same charges.

Butler, a 27-year-old woman, went missing recently while attempting to collect her children with her companion, Jilian Kelley, aged 39. They were on their way to Eva, Oklahoma, where Butler’s kids were potentially residing, when they disappeared.

Butler found herself in the midst of a bitter custody battle with her children’s father, which had escalated just before the disappearance of the two mothers. A mere ten days prior to her vanishing, Butler had taken legal action to secure additional visitation rights and pursue full custody of her beloved children.

According to a recent update posted on the OSBI Facebook page, authorities have discovered two bodies which are believed to be those of Butler and Kelley.

The authorities will transport both individuals to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine their identification, as well as the cause and manner of death. It should be noted that this investigation is still ongoing.

The authorities discovered the abandoned vehicle of the pair weeks ago and concluded that there was evidence suggesting foul play, as stated in the initial statement by the OSBI.
