Individual indicted for felony assault after striking 9-year-old girl in the face at Grand Central Terminal

A man accused of punching a 9-year-old girl in the face at Grand Central Terminal on Saturday morning was apprehended by the police later that night. He has been charged with felony assault.

Jean Carlos Zarzuela, 30, was taken into custody by the MTAPD around 10:20 p.m. They have charged him with assault 2 (felony assault) and additional charges are pending.

According to the police, the young girl experienced feelings of pain and dizziness. Promptly, officers from the MTAPD nearby provided assistance to the child. She was then taken to NYU Langone – Tisch Hospital for further medical attention.

The MTAPD released a description of Zarzuela, stating that he was known to the department, approximately three hours before apprehending him.
